who we are
The History of the Iranian Church
The Iranian Church commenced its mission in 1987 in San Jose, California, founded by four ex-Muslim families. This small collective firmly believed in God’s grand plan to bring salvation to Iran and Iranians worldwide. As the Church gained traction, numerous Persian-speaking families embraced Christianity, necessitating a move to a larger space in Sunnyvale. Presently, approximately 220 individuals actively participate in worship gatherings at Iranian Christian Church of Sunnyvale every week.
The Iranian Church also conducts separate meetings for the Children’s Church and the Youth Church, engaging around 50 members in smaller worship sessions with educational classes and Bible teachings. Another objective of the Iranian Church is the organization of home meetings or home-churches during the week, fostering the growth and character development of believers.
Notably, the Iranian Church played a pivotal role in establishing and promoting self-sufficiency in two other churches, one in the city of Walnut Creek in 1991 and the other in Sacramento in 2001. Despite the presence of leading pastors and servants, these two churches continue to be overseen and managed by the Iranian Church.
