Deity and Lordship of Christ
The deity of Christ is one of the most critical principles of Christian faith. Our salvation is based upon the fact that according to God’s promises in the Old Testament, He came to earth, like a loving Father, to seek and save us, His lost children.
The deity of Christ is one of the most critical principles of Christian faith. Our salvation is based upon the fact that according to God’s promises in the Old Testament, He came to earth, like a loving Father, to seek and save us, His lost children.
We must always be aware not to exalt any human to God’s level. It is stated in the Bible that man did not become God, but rather God appeared in human flesh. The question is not whether God can become man (of course He can). The key question is why did He do it? (John 1:29)
Different titles of Jesus and their meanings:
“Son of God” means God in flesh.
“Son of Man” means God in flesh.
Therefore when Christ was on earth he was 100% God and 100% man.
“Jesus” means God the Savior.
“Messiah” means anointed as King.

2) The New Testament declare Jesus as God
The following verses as well as many others introduce Jesus Christ as God.
- John 1:1, 14, 29 The Word was with God and the Word was God. The word
Became flesh and made His dwelling among us. The lamb of God who takes
away the sin of the world.
- 1 Tim. 3:16 The mystery of godliness was revealed: God appeared in a body.
- 1:15-19 Christ is the image of the invisible God. By Him all things were created. He is before all things, God’s fullness dwells in Him.
3) Jesus Christ Himself declared that He is God
- John 10:30-33 Jesus said “I and the Father are one” and because of that
the Jews wanted to stone Him for blasphemy.
- John 14:6-11 “If you really knew me you would know my Father as well. Because anyone who has seen me has seen the Father, believe I am in the Father and the Father is in me, it is the Father living in me who is doing His work”.

Jesus Christ the Lord is Lord over everything and everyone. He is the Lord of the universe and rules over all things whether we accept His position as Lord or not.
Although He is the Lord, our relationship with Him is not one of master and slave. His
Sovereignty over our lives is based on the following principles:

and we belong to Him.

Him.

5) Lordship of Christ must be seen in action and not words only
God wants us to show that He is our Lord by our actions and not just by our words.
Luke 6:46 ………………………………………………
Obeying Him is not for His benefit but for ours.
Luke 6:47-49 ………………………………………………
